Separating Fact from Fiction: The Truth About the Law of Attraction
The Truth About The Law of Manifestation
The law of attraction is not something you can turn on and off to attract your heart’s desire. The law of attraction is a universal law that works 24/7, 365 days a year, and whether you are conscious of it or not, it works without fail. Hence, every thought you think, every action you take, and every emotion you feel attracts more the same. In other words, like attracts like. If you feel joy, you attract more of the same. Feel anger, anxiety, frustration, and every other possible thought you don’t want; you attract more of the same. As the saying states, birds of a feather flock together. The universal law works by inclusion and not exclusion. In other words, you get the substance of your thoughts.
Although one may intend to experience the best life has to offer. Every moment spent harboring past missteps, disappointments, and experiences of lack and limitations sets the stage to invite the opposite. Despite your best intentions, the object of your attention is setting the course of your future. We have been conditioned to rehearse the worst that could happen to prepare for how to respond. The more you focus on what you don’t want, the more you get that amplifies the very situations and circumstances you aim to escape. Everything you were taught to believe about the premise of expecting the best while preparing for the absolute worst that could happen is a complete paradox. In other words, the more you focus on what you don’t want, the more you are asking the universe to give you more of the same. This is often why the things you fear most come to pass, not because you consciously choose for this to happen but because you get what you think about.
Suppose you spend much time, energy, and attention contemplating the worst that could happen to you or the ones you love most. In that case, you invite it into your experience through the invitation of your thoughts. This is why fear, doubt, and worry negate our attempts to tap into the law of attraction. Instead of inviting in what you want, fear, doubt, and worry affirm the opposite, negating our efforts. The universe responds to what we give our attention. Likewise, pushing away what you fear most essentially invites it into your experience. Hence, despite your highest intent, the universe responds to what you predominately give your attention.
You get more of what you don’t want by focusing your time, energy, and attention on worrying about the worst that could happen. Similarly, many of the old sayings all tie back in some way or another to the law of attraction. Interestingly, one does not have to ascribe to the law for it to work, as it works whether you understand it or not. The better you understand it, the easier it becomes to align and become one with it for it to work in your favor. We are all co-creators with universal intelligence. We can either actively participate through deliberate creation or by default. As with most things, it is always beneficial to consciously create a life that aligns with your highest intent by going beyond what is and keeping your thoughts focused on what you want.
The key to creating your chosen life is consistently focusing on your wants. Notably, focusing on what you want when it bears no resemblance to what you want can prove a challenge. However, the key to manifesting the life of your dreams lies in going beyond what is by redirecting your attention (aka focus) back onto what you want. This goes back to continuously setting an intention for each segment of your day. In other words, instead of living by the default of old habit patterns, create with intention based on what you desire to feel and experience. Consciously increasing your awareness of how you feel at any moment empowers you to deliberately co-create with the universe to be, do, and have your heart’s desire.
