Overcoming Obstacles: Closing the Gap to Your Desired Future
As a collective, we have been conditioned to ascribe to beliefs affirming that fear, lack, limitation, and suffering are essential to the human experience and that happiness, joy, and abundant living are luxuries reserved for a select few. Not only is it reserved for a select few, but one should be highly cautious and protective, awaiting the other preverbal shoe to drop, causing it to dissipate faster than you can blink an eye.
The conditions of lack and limitation are further reiterated by several commonly known old sayings, from money being the root of all evil, hoping for the best and preparing for the worst, to waiting for the other shoe to drop, anytime one perceives things as "too good to be true." In other words, one should remain hopeful but not too optimistic because it can all go away as fast as it appeared. This can raise several questions, mostly about how to bridge the gap between where you are and where you desire to be.
Repeatedly thinking and ascribing to these and similar beliefs creates limitations for what you should and should not do—creating a narrow definition of what is and is not possible. This in itself is pretty disheartening. However, there is good news. Being that beliefs are what you repeatedly think about, changing your thoughts (aka beliefs) can unequivocally change your life, bridging the gap between where you are and where you desire to be. This post will explore practical strategies to overcome obstacles to close the gap to your desired future.
The Nature of “What Is”
Everything is energy, and whether conscious or not, every thought we think and entertain generates an energetic frequency that magnetically attracts what is similar in vibration. In other words, like attracts like. All we experience and observe with our physical senses affirms the reality of “what is.” Commonly referred to as our “reality,” it is the substance of our thoughts manifest into physical form. It all comes down to attention, as the object of our attention holds the key to what you attract into your experience. Whether focused on what you observe in the present moment, imagining, thinking, or remembering from your past, you offer a vibration. Being that like attracts like, one thought leads to another and another until similar thoughts attract how you feel in response to what you are focusing on, which can either raise or lower your vibration.
In other words, the thoughts you entertain can either cause you to feel good by raising your vibration or cause you to feel bad by lowering your vibration. This is often why entertaining thoughts that make you feel bad can quickly send you into a downward spiral of emotions that can easily lead you to narrow your perception until it appears nothing is working in your favor, using the power of your imagination to shift your focus from visioning the worst-case to imagining how good it would feel to manifest your highest intent, supports you to leverage the law of attraction to work for your good. In essence, imaging creates reality. Likewise, one always has the power of choice to consciously use one's imagination to create a desirable reality or rely on past habits of thought to manifest by default (without conscious thought). Thankfully, we each have the power of choice to create a reality of our choosing deliberately.
“If you knew your potential to feel good, you would ask no one to be different so that you can feel good. You would free yourself of all that cumbersome impossibility of needing to control the world, or control your mate, or control your child. You are the only one who creates your reality. For no one else can think for you; no one else can do it. It is only you, every bit of it.”

Bridging the Gap Between Where You Are And Where You Desire To Be
There is often a gap between where you are (our physical reality) and where you desire to be. Usually, when you stand in the gap, the distance between the two can seem impossible. Thankfully, the key to bridging the gap lies within your vibration. Hence, if you change your thought frequency, you can change your life. Being that everything is vibration, anytime you see what you desire as something that can only be obtained in a far-distance future, you emit a vibration that you are distant (aka apart) from your desires. In other words, you don’t have it. Admittedly, one can mask their true beliefs and intentions from the ones they love and respect, but the same doesn’t apply to the universal law of attraction, as you attract what you are in vibration with. Suppose you base the premise of your belief on the presence or lack of what you can physically observe with your senses. In that case, you emit (put out) a vibration that attracts situations and circumstances that mirror that belief.
Affirmations can beautifully embody the most inspiring and uplifting prose, but it is just hallowed words if you do not believe what you repeatedly affirm. This is often why you can recite and repeat affirmations several times a day and not come any closer to manifesting your desires. The key to bridging the gap lies in using your imagination to envision what it would feel like if it were your current reality. In other words, you must be the frequency of your wish fulfilled.
Many of us have been conditioned to use our imaginations to envision the absolute worst-case scenarios; the universal law of attraction invites us to shift our habitual thought patterns by imagining the absolute best that could happen. As you shift your thought habits, remember to be patient and gracious with yourself. Beyond the physical manifestation of material riches, the law of attraction extends into every aspect of our lives, empowering us to live more abundantly. Likewise, it is not a destination to be reached; it is a law to be understood and mastered as we traverse life's journey.
