Mindfulness Demystified: How the Law of Attraction Actually Works?
3 Ways to Make It Work For You
Everyone, at some point or another, has attempted to access the law of attraction, only to come up short. Admit-tingly manifestation usually doesn’t happen overnight. However, no one wants to idly sit around waiting for something to miraculously happen when there’s no visible indication that things will work out in your favor. Interestingly, the very times when we abandon all hope are the exact time when we experience a breakthrough. But why?
Perhaps you’ve created vision boards and repeatedly recited affirmations and other practices, only to miss the mark. Whereas other times you may have unconsciously manifested with ease. If you’re anything like me, you’ve found yourself wondering WTF. If this resonates in the least bit, you are not alone. This post will discuss how the law of attraction works and delve into three ways to make it work for you.
How Does The Law of Attraction Work?
As a collective, we often abandon pursuing our desires and settle for positions that don’t pique our interest for fear of the unknown. The more engaged we are with doing the things that spark joy and put us in the creative flow. The more we are in flow, the more we can disconnect from the forced effort to coerce the universal laws to work in our favor. Likewise, being in the flow invites ease, freeing you from forcefully using the power of will to make something happen. It is exhausting to subject ourselves to continuously coerce the laws of attraction to work in our favor when the very things we do to achieve some degree of success misalign with the desires of our hearts.
The only way to use the law of attraction to our benefit is for the object of our desire to hold our attention. On all accounts, it can’t just minimally spark our interest; it must spark a sense of joy that makes us feel alive. The greater our interest, the easier it is to hold our attention, and since like attracts like, this, in turn, pulls us in even further, drawing more and more of our interest. Where your attention goes, your energy flows. The more single-pointed our attention is focused on a specific object, the more empowered we are to attract our desires into manifestation. The sum of our highest intent is the power of our thought. Likewise, thought is the energy of the law of attraction, as our thoughts manifest into form by our ability to think. At any given point and time, we are in constant contemplation and thought.
Whether conscious of it or not, the content of our thoughts manifests into our reality. Be it morning, noon, or night, it proverbially never sleeps or slumbers as it is always active. We must be mindful of our thoughts as it is no respecter of persons, as the law is persistently in play. In doing so, a thought is never just a thought. It is an energetic currency that sets the path of causation in motion. In other words, our thoughts set the course for our reality. Since the law is no respecter of persons, it works without regard to our intentions. We, as a collective, often tend to think one thing and do another; when it comes to the law, this habit does not make space for it to work in our favor.
Rightfully so, the law does what it does best, attracting the sole focus of our attention. The predominant vibrations of the thoughts we think create our reality. The good news is that if we persistently focus our thoughts on what we want (aka our desires), we are more likely to yield the fruits of our labor successfully. Notably, we tend to do the exact opposite by disproportionately focusing on the things we fear the most (aka the worst-case scenario).
When it comes to the law of attraction, time is the factor that most often gets in the way of attracting our desires. Unlike goals which are usually qualified as smart (specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, and timely), the law of attraction doesn’t consider the rules of logic and time, as it operates on a frequency that attracts from the energy and intensity of our desire regardless of time. The more we are drawn to our desires and align our thoughts and feelings with them as our current reality, the more it is drawn into our reality. Hence the more prominent our attention is focused on our desire, the more intense and expeditious it is drawn to us.
3 Ways to Make the Law of Attraction Work for You
1. Sit in the Silence
Carve out time each day to sit in silence. Release all active thought, sit in complete stillness, bring your physical body into a state of rest, disconnect from all doing, and be.
If your attention drifts, redirect it to all that flows into your awareness, from all ambient sounds, physical sensations, thoughts, emotions, and everything else in between; redirect it to the natural rhythm and flow of the breath.
2. Remain Steadfast in Your Desire
Within all of us lies a desire to release what is seeking to express through us. It may present as a passion or desire to do something so big and majestic that it scares you. Perhaps the very thought of it has you conjuring up all the logical reasons it won’t work.
Release any urge to rationalize or map out how it will evolve and remain steadfast in your desire. Regardless of any presence of physical proof, or lack thereof, remain persistent in the feeling that it is already done. Consistently go beyond appearances.
3. Shift the Narrative
As a collective, we hold the belief that seeing is believing. In other words, we must see and experience the fruits of our labor before we can feel it. Give yourself permission to shift, unlearn, and release previously held beliefs that no longer serve. In the case of seeing is believing, allow yourself to change the narrative, and see and feel your desires as already done, beforehand. Belief and visualization, backed with thoughts and feelings, create an energetic force that attracts and pulls your desires into physical form.
