Manifesting Your Desires Despite Doubt: A Step -Step Guide
Ever find yourself working to manifest more abundance, only to have doubt arise, causing you to question whether it could ever happen? If so, you are not alone. This piece will explore ways to release doubt to manifest your heart’s desires.
When one thinks of manifesting abundance, doubt is often the first thing to derail your efforts to shift from where you are to where you desire to be. There are always two choices what you want to manifest or the lack thereof. Focusing on the perceived problem puts you further away from having it. Unconsciously focusing on not currently having your desires met creates a vibration that essentially says that you want more of what you what is; in the case of lack, it attracts more situations, and circumstances perpetuate more of the same. Hence the more you direct your attention to what hasn’t worked in the past, the more doubt arises, questioning the likelihood of it manifesting in your present.
The more you allow the past to dictate your future, the more you regulate things to remain the same. When you focus on the perception of not having what you desire, your mind instantaneously begins to attract like thoughts that find increasingly more evidence to support your belief. Contrary to popular belief, your beliefs are not fixed, hardwired, or immobile thoughts you must carry throughout your life. Beliefs are simply the thoughts you repeatedly think. Hence if you change your thoughts, you can literally and figuratively change your life; by going beyond what it currently is to your desires. In other words, the more you can live in what potentially can be through your imaginative faculty and less of what is, the faster you can manifest your intentions.
The more you allow your thoughts to remain focused on the possibility of the absolute worse that could happen, opening yourself to ruminate in fear, doubt, and worry of the past repeating itself, the more you invite in the essence of what you don’t want. This, in itself, invalidates the whole intent of worry. By way of conditioning, many of us have developed the habit of worrying about the ones we love the most, only to misdirect our attention to the absolute worst that could happen by default.
Instead of focusing on the perceived potential unlikelihood of things not panning out for your god, pivot your focus away from the problem and onto the solution (aka your desired intent). Hence the key to your solution lies not in repeatedly recycling the same old story but in creating a completely different story to amplify the vibration of what you wish to invite into your experience. For instance, should one desire to manifest financial abundance, shift your attention away from your current bank account balance and onto what you desire. In other words, tap into your child-like imagination to view it as you want.
Unlike most adults, children possess the imaginative faculty to view life through how they desire things to be. For instance, a child can reside in the most humble circumstances and creatively use their imagination to live out the most abundant reality. In other words, despite living in the most unlikely circumstances, children can leverage their imaginative facility to reside in a completely different world, which is the exact opposite of what currently exists. As adults, we often attempt to suppress children's imaginations to prepare them for “the real world” when we should observe and learn to live in our current reality as we pivot our attention away from doubt and onto what we’d rather experience.
Like many of us, you may have likely experienced more suboptimal conditions than you’d care to. Your past does not have to dictate your future. Likewise, it’s completely understandable that thoughts of doubt may arise, causing you to question the likelihood of the past potentially repeating itself. Thankfully there is good news, as your past is not predictive of your future.
We are all conscious creators with a creative agency to manifest our desires as we see fit. Whether you are aware of it or not, the law of attraction always works according to our thoughts. You are an unlimited, vibrational being with the power to create the life of your dreams. The only limits are those we allow to block our desired intent. Your past doesn’t affect your capacity to manifest your desire. Habits create and shape your reality. Change your habits, change your life. Going beyond what is, supports you to vibrate at the frequency of your desired intent to feel good. Likewise, anytime you perceive doubt, it creates feelings and emotions that do not feel good. Perceive and visualize what you desire; you will attract it to materialize. Focus on what feels good; the better you feel, the faster you attract it into your experience. Naturally, this raises a very intriguing question.
How do you get from there to here when the gap between where you are and where you desire to be appears too great? So glad you asked; shifting the content of your thought away from what you don’t and onto what you do want may seem easy. However, it is a nuanced practice that requires persistent effort. As you work through this four-step practice, I implore you to give yourself grace as the road to forging new habits is a journey that calls you to begin again33 and again, again, until it becomes a habit.
Manifesting Your Desires Despite Doubt: A Step-Step Guide
Despite what currently appears not to be working in your favor lies an invitation to bridge the gap between where you are and where you desire to be. Being that like attracts like, thoughts of doubt can quickly snowball into the realization of all that is not presently not working. Contrary to popular belief, you have the creative agency to manifest your desires.
Affirm your desires by exploring your underlying intent by asking yourself what you want beyond just stating your intent (i.e., I want more money). Take a few moments to explore your why.
For instance, I want increased financial resources to get out of debt and achieve financial freedom, as this will afford me the means and unbridled freedom to select experiences based on desired intent and not on my bank account balance. This is just a snippet of what this exercise could entail. Take time to delve in and explore the many reasons you want to manifest your desires. This deeper dive will enliven you to tap into the overall feeling you seek to attain.
Doubt will likely arise once you state your intent, accentuating the gap between what currently is and where you desire to be. Viewing your experience from the viewpoint of what’s currently not working (aka a perspective of lack) can quickly appear as if the distance between getting from here to there is nearly impossible.
Please take a few deep breaths and feel how it physically feels within your body as you breathe in and out. Likewise, redirecting your attention away from the perceived problem onto the breath supports you to reclaim power over your attention.
Anytime you focus on what is not working, you feel bad. Take a few more deep breaths, and shift your focus by exploring why you want to manifest your desires.
Practice, practice, practice. As with anything new, forming habits does not happen overnight. Please exercise grace and patience with yourself, and continue to begin again anytime you miss the mark.
The key to developing new habits is repeatedly shifting your thoughts away from what you don’t want and onto your desires. Despite any physical evidence that may affirm otherwise, you have the power and the privilege to manifest your thoughts.
