Harnessing the Creative Mind: Imagination as a Tool for Manifestation
7 Steps to Manifest Your Hearts Desire
Have you ever started your day with the best of intentions, only to think of one suboptimal thought that led to another and another until you find yourself immersed in a swirl of thoughts that are the mirror of the exact opposite of your desired intent?
Sometimes, it may feel like life is happening to you and not the other way around, especially regarding your intent. Far too often, we have the longstanding habit of saying one thing and meaning something completely different. As the old saying goes, people may lie, but energy never lies. In other words, You can fool people sometimes, but you can never pull one over on the universe. What you put into the universe is always reflected in your experience.
Despite our highest intent, the energy that underlies our intention always wins. In other words, you can have the best of intentions. Still, from the moment you persistently focus on all of the things that could go wrong by mentally rehearsing the worst-case scenarios (aka worrying), the more you invite what you don't want to materialize into your experience.
Where your attention goes, your energy flows. One of the best ways to start your day is to focus on the substance of what you want. Naturally, this can prove a challenge if the substance of your physical reality doesn't come close to mirroring what you want.
Thankfully there is good news. Remember when you were asked to put away childish things and asked to lay to rest the use of your childlike imagination so that you could "be more realistic." You may have to dust the cobwebs off your imaginative facility to reignite this faculty, as this practice is worth its weight in gold.
Practice
1. Each morning, when you wake, resist any urge to reach for your phone or turn on the news immediately. Take a few moments to acclimate yourself to your being in an awake state. Shift your awareness to your intention for the day.
2. Free yourself from focusing on how your intent will materialize and focus on the overall feeling you seek to embody.
3. As time permits, designate 10 to 20 minutes in the morning to sit in a quiet space where you are not likely to be disturbed, and journal five to ten things for which you are grateful.
4. Gratitude practice sets your desired intent's tone (energy). Feel into your intent.
5. Set your phone alarm, and tap into your childlike imagination, to feel the energy of your intention, releasing any urge to overanalyze the "how" and feel the dream fulfilled.
6. Permit yourself to feel the universal truth of your being that everything is done as you believe.
7. Breathe, feel, and free yourself to experience the frequency already done. Write or type an empowering mantra that captures the energy of the day (i.e., everything is working together for my good) into your phone or journal, setting periodic reminders to alert (aka remind) you throughout the day.
I encourage you to lean into this practice to help you manifest your highest intent daily. Be gracious with yourself and give it a try. I’d love to hear from you.
